Global Tender Barges Pte Ltd was incorporated in September 2007. The company's main focus is tender rig operations in Asia Pacific. The company commenced drilling operations by acquiring of 3 tender rigs in 2008.

Tender rigs are purpose-built rigs for production drilling from fixed platforms. The modularized drilling package is lifted from the unit onto the platform prior to operations. The tender, which is moored next to the platform during drilling operations, contains living quarters, storage for drilling supplies, power machinery for running the drilling equipment, helicopter deck, and well completion equipment. Self-erecting tender rigs allow for drilling operations to be performed from platforms without the need for permanently installed drilling packages.

All of the company's tender rigs are currently fixed on long term contracts with first class energy companies. Global Jade has been drilling for TOTAL E&P INDONESIE since 2nd quarter 2008. Global Emerald commenced drilling for BRUNEI SHELL PETROLUEM SDN BHD in 1st quarter 2009. Global Sapphire will be commencing drilling for PETRONAS CARIGALI SDN BHD in 4th quarter 2009.

With the ambition of being a key player in the rig industry, Global Tender Barges Pte Ltd is established in Singapore, with key personnel in place. Considering the main market for tender barges operations being South East Asia, Singapore represents an ideal location. The company also has subsidiaries in Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia.
